The successful conclusion of ABTC 2023 Philippines brings forth congratulations to The Singa Crew from Singapore for clinching this edition’s championship, and to Hungry Bird from Indonesia for securing the runner-up position. These two teams were also fierce contenders in the preceding ABTC 2022 Singapore.

In this all-encompassing competition, where precision, timing, taste, and presentation skills of barista teams are paramount, the participating teams that made it to the grand event showcased formidable strength. Within an exceedingly short time frame, they crafted a diverse array of coffee styles and types, ranging from a dozen to twenty cups, all while meeting the stringent criteria set by the judges. This truly put to test the experience, synergy, and professional aptitude of the barista teams.

Mr. Joseph Tan emphasized that while extensive communication and collaboration with designers and baristas are integral to the design and production of ceramic cups, being a judge for the championship has been immensely enriching. Beyond his familiarity with the knowledge of the professional coffee industry, his role as a championship judge has inspired additional insights, which he believes will be aptly applied in future product design endeavors.

With the curtain drawn on ABTC 2023 Philippines, we eagerly anticipate reconnecting with fellow coffee enthusiasts in Singapore come September.
