Claytan®FC launched the Volca CSR Campaign during the time of Covid-19 worsening to raise funds for Non-Government Organizations by selling healthy ceramic health combs – Volca Razer.

The year is gearing up to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Claytan®, but the world is facing the ravages of Covid-19, yet the Claytan® remains steadfast and continues to promote the concept of lead-safe products.
Claytan®FC collaborated with 100 small and medium F&B cafés and restaurants to promote the importance of Lead Safe to the public through the “Eat Well, Eat Safe” campaign.

Claytan® Fine China (Tableware) Sdn. Bhd. (Claytan®FC) was incorporated specializing in the production of stoneware tableware and artware.

Claytan® partnership with Caroma to enter the Australia and New Zealand markets with quality sanitaryware.

JPC-Intan Sdn. Bhd. (JPCI) was incorporated to produce an advanced range of vitrified clay pipes.

Claytan® started to manufacture sanitary ware under OEM arrangement for the Japan and UK market.

First company in Malaysia to export tableware to The United States of America.

Oriental Ceramics Sdn. Bhd. (OCSB) was incorporated to set up the first tableware factory in Malaysia to produce English Fine Earthenware to USA.

Claytan® brought in foreign technology by installing the first British designed tunnel kiln in Malaysia to fire sanitary ware.

Clay Industries Sdn. Bhd. (CISB) was incorporated to strengthen Claytan®’s lead in the vitreous china sanitary ware business.

Our Late MD, Mr. Tan Chong Cheng took over the helm from his late father and has since been the Managing Director of the Claytan® Group until 2016.

Development and production of sanitaryware for the Singapore Improvement Trust and Housing Trust of Malaya.

The first to produce and supply vitrified clay pipes meeting British Standards 65.

Marks the beginning of the tableware industry in our country as were encouraged by the Army to go into the production of tableware and various types of earthen containers after ceasing operation.

The Japanese Imperial Army invades Malaya, This marking the beginning of the Second World War in this part of the world.

Extends production base to Ayer Hitam, Johore. Johore Pipe Company (JPC) was established offering vitrified clay pipes for supply to the Public Works Department, and latex cups for the rubber estates in Johor.
